Introduction
Magnesium ingots are block shaped metallic magnesium formed after smelting and purification, usually silver white in color and possessing a metallic luster. Magnesium is a lightweight, high-strength alkaline earth metal with the chemical symbol Mg, atomic number 12, and a density of approximately 1.74 g/cm ³ (only 2/3 of aluminum and 1/4 of steel). It is one of the lightest metal structural materials in industrial applications.
