Silicon Metal (also known as Metallurgical Grade Silicon) is a grey, semi-metallic material produced by carbothermically reducing quartz in submerged arc furnaces. It is a critical raw material for the aluminum, chemical, and semiconductor industries, as well as for the production of ferrosilicon and other silicon-based alloys.
