In foundries, silicon slag is used in the production of iron castings. It improves the fluidity of molten iron, aids in slag removal, and enhances the toughness and machinability of the final casting.

 Production of Silicon Briquettes 

Silicon slag in powder form is often compressed into briquettes. These briquettes are convenient for handling and are widely used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent in steelmaking furnaces.

 Silicon Extraction & Recycling 

Silicon slag can be processed to recover silicon metal. The extracted silicon is then reused in various industrial applications, supporting resource efficiency and circular economy principles.

 Refractory Materials 

After appropriate treatment, silicon slag can be used as a raw material for producing ordinary fire bricks and other high-temperature resistant materials for furnace linings.

 Flue Gas Desulfurization

Due to its alkaline oxide content, silicon slag slurry can be used in flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems to remove sulfur dioxide (SO₂) from industrial exhaust gases.
