Ferrosilicon slag is the waste slag produced after ferrosilicon production. The main components of ferrosilicon slag are silicon dioxide, about 40%-60%, calcium oxide, about 20%-30%, aluminum oxide about 5%-10%, and a small amount of iron, manganese and other impurities.
Ferrosilicon slag can be used as a raw material and deoxidizer for steelmaking. In the manufacture of some steel products that do not require high silicon content, ferrosilicon slag can reduce costs and has a similar deoxidation effect like ferrosilicon, thereby improving the quality of steel.
